The event take places September 14\, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:30 pm at the Rooftop Conference Center in the Belcher Pavilion of the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis\, MD. \nAt our Taste of the Chesapeake\, the Alliance recognizes our environmental leadership award winners and showcases our programs and our progress toward Bay restoration. The Taste also helps raise critical funds to support our vital mission to restore and protect the Chesapeake and increase the impact of our work across the Chesapeake watershed. \nJoin us at the Taste for an evening of unique Chesapeake-inspired food and drink\, live music\, raffles\, and a silent auction! Items from last year’s silent auction included a weeklong Vermont vacation\, Chesapeake waterway trips\, sports event tickets\, themed baskets\, gift certificates\, and much more!

SUMMARY:Lancaster County Conservancy Water Week
DESCRIPTION:Join the Lancaster County Conservancy and Octoraro Native Plant Nursery in celebration of clean water! \nLancaster County is blessed with 1\,500 stream miles\, but 47% of these streams are polluted and cannot support their original aquatic life. Waterways are at the core of Lancaster County. They drive economic opportunity and growth that benefits our local economy and agriculture. Our rivers and streams are the source of our drinking water and recreation to be enjoyed by all. To protect these waters\, we want to strengthen the sense of stewardship in Lancaster County.  Water connects us all! \nWater Week was conceived along the banks of the Conestoga River by friends Fritz Schroeder (Lancaster County Conservancy) and Spike Brant (Nimblist.) While kayaking along the river offers much beauty and solace\, it is also a front row seat to the amount of erosion\, pollution\, and disregard some have for this amazing fresh water resource. With this in mind they set out to create a campaign that CELEBRATES the unique waterways of Lancaster County\, EDUCATES the public about the challenges we face and opportunities we can create\, and ACTIVATES people to take action in their watersheds and communities. \n\nGo to the Water Week website for more information on the week’s events and celebrations.
